Alexandra singer-songwriter and local schoolteacher Liz Conway brings her new album Perspectives home for its Central Stories launch. Written over the past ten years, the album traces different seasons of life — from the tenderness of singles “Beyond the Moon” and “Unicorns” (written for her young children) to tracks exploring the complexity and joy that later seasons bring.
Joined by Jono Conway, Paula Brown and Luke Hardinge, Liz moves fluidly between reflective piano/vocal and intimate guitar/vocal songs, full band numbers, a piano/flute duet, and a piano solo performed live to film. There’s something in it for everyone.
The evening also features Rangi Takō | Clear Skies, a stunning 15-minute astrophotography film showcasing the southern night sky in time-lapse, co-directed by Liz with Andy Davey of Winterstellar Charitable Trust — with Liz performing her live piano soundtrack alongside the screening.
An intermission will offer food and non-alcoholic drinks for purchase. This will be a fundraiser for their local school band.
