Solo Exhibition | Heafey Gallery, Friday 2 – Saturday 31 October
Central Stories is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new work by artist Camille Alabaster.
Camille’s connection to Central Otago runs deep — her family first arrived in the region in the 1850s, and she describes it as her spiritual home. Over the years she has developed her practice across painting, pottery and mixed media, including through programmes such as the American Creative Visionary Programme and the Cold Wax Academy. Now based in Clyde, she continues to paint, throw pots, and try her hand at new materials and directions.
This exhibition brings together that range: playful ceramic figures and vases, landscape paintings, a bold mixed-media portrait, and collaged tile and coastal pieces. It’s a varied show, with plenty of different styles and price points on offer — so there’s a good chance you’ll find something that suits, whatever you’re after.
Camille describes this exhibition as being about exploring new directions in her creative journey, rather than a commercial one. In that spirit, everything is realistically priced, and the exhibition is cash and carry, so you can take your treasures home on the spot.
Come in, have a browse, and take home a little piece of local creativity.
Entry to the Heafey Gallery is free. Central Stories Museum & Art Gallery is open daily, 10am – 4pm.
