Heafey Gallery | 1–31 December 2025 Central Stories Museum & Gallery is delighted to present a solo exhibition by Dunedin-based artist Jo Jago throughout December. This vibrant showcase brings together watercolour, alcohol ink abstracts, and mixed media works that explore the dynamic interplay of colour, texture, and emotion.

About the Exhibition

Jo Jago’s practice is rooted in experimentation and connection. Her signature ink abstracts draw inspiration from the sea—capturing the movement, energy, and depth of coastal waters through flowing forms and rich blue palettes. Alongside these striking pieces, visitors will discover her expressive watercolours and bold explorations that invite contemplation and joy.

A highlight of this exhibition is Jo’s innovative use of repurposed farm fence posts as frames—a creative choice that honours rural heritage while championing sustainability. This thoughtful detail connects her contemporary practice to the landscape and stories of Central Otago.

The exhibition features original artworks, fine art prints on archival paper and canvas, and a selection of Christmas cards—perfect for those seeking meaningful, locally-made gifts this festive season.
