Join us for an enchanting evening of storytelling through song as Chris Priestley, who has been one of the primary movers and shakers in Auckland folk music scene for over thirty years, brings history to life with his captivating solo performance.
In this intimate concert, Chris will take you on a musical journey through New Zealand’s forgotten past, uncovering the colourful characters, rogues, rebels and unsung heroes whose stories deserve to be told. Through his evocative ballads and engaging storytelling, accompanied by a slideshow of historical images and newspaper clippings, you’ll meet the extraordinary personalities who shaped our nation’s history – from adventurers and balloonists to prospectors and outlaws.
Chris’s latest work explores songs written about some of New Zealand’s most colourful historical characters. Each song brings these forgotten figures vividly to life through Chris’s wonderful, direct singing style and beautiful melodies.
