Journey through New Zealand’s fascinating September history this school holidays at Central Stories Museum & Art Gallery!

Are your kids ready for the ultimate time-traveling adventure? Our exciting new school holiday program, “Back to September: History Quest,” invites young explorers to discover some of New Zealand’s most significant historical moments and worldwide inventions that happened in September.

How It Works

Kids will receive their official History Quest Permit and embark on an incredible journey through time! They’ll need to complete 4 exciting challenges to collect stamps and enter our fantastic Grand Prize draw:

🚂 Train Clue Hunt -Can you find the Blossom Festival train carriages in the museum?
✈️ First Tasman Flight on 11th September 1928 – Make a model Bi-plane
🗳️ NZ 1st Country Where Women Got the Vote on 19th September 1893– Make a white paper camellia to commemorate this amazing historical moment.
🏉 All Blacks Go back to when it all started on 16th September 1905– Can you design the next All Blacks rugby jersey?
Time Travel Clue Hunt – Explore the amazing inventions that happened in September!
🎨 Colour in a Picture or Do a Puzzle – Creative historical fun
❤️ 1st NZ Open Heart Surgery on 3rd September 1958– Make your own heart corner bookmark
