Exhibition Overview

From 1-28 February 2025, Central Stories Museum & Art Gallery proudly presents a unique family exhibition that celebrates the boundless nature of human creativity. This extraordinary showcase brings together 23 family members from New Zealand, Australia, UK, and Canada, spanning generations and artistic disciplines.

The Creative Spirit

“We are not all artists, but we are all creative and creativity in all its forms is essential for our wellbeing as a society” — this powerful statement encapsulates the exhibition’s core philosophy.

A Multigenerational Artistic Tapestry

The exhibition features works from family members ranging from teenagers to those in their late seventies, including pieces that honor deceased family members whose creative legacy continues to inspire subsequent generations.

Diverse Artistic Expressions

With over 100 exhibits covering a wide range of disciplines from paintings to a giant whimsical lantern and the influence of art on neuroscience to replicating the water shedding properties of butterfly wings, to name but a few.
