A Touch of Gold: Robin Eden Solo Exhibition

March 2-31, 2025 | Heafey Gallery

at Central Stories Museum and Art Gallery

Central Stories is proud to present “A Touch of Gold,” a solo exhibition featuring the vibrant works of celebrated artist Robin Eden. This exhibition showcases Eden’s distinctive oil paintings that capture the majestic landscapes of Central Otago with her signature impressionist style and masterful use of light.

About the Artist

Robin Eden is a self-taught, award-winning artist with over two decades of artistic excellence. Her journey began in Christchurch, where she served as a resident artist at the Redcliffs Gallery. There, she became known for her large-scale depictions of Redcliffs, Shag Rock, and Sumner until the gallery was tragically destroyed in the 2010 earthquakes.

Following this pivotal moment, Eden relocated to Bluff in Southland, where her focus shifted to commissioned works of fishing vessels and the distinctive Southland terrain. In 2019, she settled in West Otago, finding renewed inspiration in the pastoral landscapes that now surround her daily life.

The Exhibition

“A Touch of Gold” represents Eden’s current artistic phase, deeply influenced by the unique light and contours of Central Otago. Working with oils applied through both brush and palette knife techniques, Eden creates impressionist landscapes that convey both power and subtlety. Her canvases capture the region’s rugged beauty, dramatic seasons, and the particular golden light that has drawn artists to this region for generations.

Each piece reflects Eden’s passionate connection to the natural world and her remarkable ability to translate the many moods of the landscape onto canvas.
